Our face to face meetings take place at the Arkley Golf Club and we start at 6.00 pm with dinner, followed by the meeting at 7.00 pm. The ZOOM meeting start at 7pm. See the programme for details of our meetings. Visitors should email “secretary@barnet-rotary.org.uk” for details.
We had the following events so far during the current Rotary year:
- Disability Games – These took place at the Aspire Leisure Centre in Stanmore on the 12th of October 2025. The event was openned to disabled adults and groups with partially sighted and wheelchairs catered for. The Event Organiser was Scott Maclachlan smaclachla@aol.com.
- Christmas Fayre – The Rotary Club of Barnet had a stall at the Fayre which took place on the 5th of December 2025 at the Barnet High Street. We were serving mulled wine and mince pies. Although the weather was not very helpful since it was raining almost all day, we managed to make a profit of about £540. The event was attended by a number of members who had an enjoyable time.
- Christmas Lunch – During Christmas day we provided lunch for about 50 persons at Ewen Hall. The event was attended by the Mayor of Barnet and everybody enjoyed themselves and joined the singing.
What do we do?
Organise events – run sports competitions for disabled people such as the North London Disability Games, old folks outings, music concerts and our famous annual Christmas party.
Fund Raising Events – we take part in a number of our local community events such as the Barnet Christmas Fayre and the East Barnet Festival.
Support local charities – cancer centers, hospices for terminally ill children and adults and young carers.
Develop school links – encourage fundraising projects to broaden awareness of community issues; organise educational programmes such as drug and health awareness, and careers advice.
Encourage young people – Rotary’s Young Chef, Young Musician, Youth Speaks and Young Photographer are just some of the activities that our club was getting involved.
Make a world of difference – help organise and support life-changing projects, from sending emergency aid to disaster-hit regions, to travelling to India to immunise children against polio.
