Barnet Rotarians Busy Despite Covid-19!

Two recent meetings of Barnet Rotary Club heard from very interesting speakers.

On March 2nd Assistant District Governor Shanta Kumar of the Rotary Club of Wembley spoke about the District 1130 “Classroom Box“ project. This project buys basic school equipment for children in rural Sri Lanka such as pencils, paper and school bags and sources them locally. Shanta had himself been out to Sri Lanka and has seen the joy on the children’s faces when they received the supplies. The Barnet Rotarians have agreed to support this project.

On Tuesday March 3rd Barnet Club Members joined Rotarians from all over London at Youth Makes Music Concert at the Royal Festival Hall.

Monday March 9th had Barnet Rotarians hear from our newest Member Rtn Lin Wong who talked about her career as a Management Consultant. Born in Malaysia, educated in Ireland Lin has worked for Debenhams and Price Waterhouse Coopers and then in a consultancy role for amongst others Tesco. Indeed she had a vital role in introducing fashion and clothing to Tesco on line.
