On Monday 5th August, Barnet Rotary club honoured PDG Debbie Hodge and Verity MacLachlan with Paul Harris Fellowship Award’s.
Debbie and Verity have been active in the community with their jobs, always step up to the mark when help is required and are cool, calm and collected in a crisis. They have both participated in many Club activities over the years including helping at “Stroke Awareness”, supporting International Projects and hosting Students. In addition they have individually made significant contributions to enabling young people to achieve their full potential and supporting individuals at the end of their life.
Most recently they have been organising the kitchen and leading the cooking at the clubs Christmas Day party for the “elderly alone”. Over the past seven years they have each made major contributions to the provision of 70+ superb freshly prepared Christmas Dinners, at Ewen Hall in Barnet, underpinning the success of the day.
They were not fazed at all a few years back when the gas supply crisis in East Barnet resulted in the numbers increasing significantly, to over 100, with less than 48 hours’ notice.
