During an official visit to Serum Institute of India in Pune, India on 10th November 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Charles acknowledged Rotary’s tremendous efforts in eradicating polio in India and urged them to do the same world-wide. His Royal Highness spent some time at Rotary’s display panel showcasing Rotary’s role in polio eradication, asking specific questions to Rotary District 3131 District Governor Dr Deepak Shikarpur, National Polio Committee Member SK Jain & District PolioPlus Chair Sandesh Savant. His Royal Highness accepted and posed with an “End Polio Now” scarf for the media photographers. Later, at a reception at Turf Club, he requested the large press present to highlight Rotary’s multifaceted role in making “This Close to Ending Polio” a reality for all future generations.
